With a natural eye in multi-cultural hairstyling, May knows good hair. As a hair stylist for over ten years, in October 2005, she successfully took share in and opened Hot Heads Hair Studio located at the Kentland’s in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
May is attentive and takes her privilege as a stylist very seriously. In doing so, personalized appointments for faithful and new clients is a must and in appreciation of devoted customers, the salon is inviting, warm and never swamped. Patrons come into a cozy, relaxed environment and leave feeling and looking like a million bucks! May expresses, “The importance and emphasis reflects that the salon is focused on creating a rotating flow of pleased customers. My personal goal for clients is quality of workmanship not quantity”. She easily creates a level of confidence between clients and is also a firm believer in good hair care. Strong interests in seasonal hair trends and product knowledge is an automatic plan in May’s schedule. She firmly states, “I refuse to pass by the fundamental stages of nurturing the hair. Without sharing knowledge on hair care and advising the root of any hair damage is a total injustice to any client.” At Hot Head Hair Studio, May educates and enforces hair care tips for many different hair textures. In the ever-changing climate in our area from summer’s humidity to winter’s cold drying winds, product knowledge is of ultimate importance to healthy beautiful hair.
In addition to being a competent hairstylist, for the past three years, May has been teaching workshops at the International Beauty School in West Virginia. “It has been an enormous opportunity for me to give back knowledge and share what I have learned in the beauty industry. It’s rewarding to share that with students who are just entering the profession. My encouragement isn’t just making students knowledgeable about hair but about building character, expressing a creative side and displaying confidence in communication between other salon operators and clients. “With an extra twist, edgy new styles and creating new classes, May reaches her ultimate goal which is to educate students beyond just basic hairstyling”.
With the experience of styling hair to teaching workshops, May welcomes you to Hot Heads Hair Studio, 348 Main Street, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Please call for consultation and appointment (301) 318-2166.
